Tapped In #004: Philly Rolls, Birthday Speeches & Your Next Big Event?

There’s a certain kind of busy that just feels right - where the place is full, the pints are flowing, and every team member’s still smiling at the end of it.


That was this weekend at Future Magic.


We kicked off Friday night with James’ 21st birthday - a full taproom takeover complete with speeches, trivia rounds, custom slideshows and a crew that came ready to celebrate. It had the vibe of a family party, just with better beer.


Then Saturday… well, Saturday was massive. We hosted the Brisbane Amateur Beer Brewers comp in the morning, followed by one of the biggest Lions games of the year, and the place was humming all day long. But what really stood out? Every staff member - despite the crowds and the chaos - said the same thing: “That was fun.”


It made me feel really proud of what we’ve built here - not just a venue that can handle a big day, but one where the energy lifts you up rather than burns you out.

🥩 New Kitchen Special: The Philly Cheesesteak Trial


Now, this one’s for our sandwich lovers.


We’re testing a Philly cheesesteak meal this week, and it is chef’s kiss good: Thin-cut, marinated beef strips with caramelised onion, gooey provola cheese, a dash of BBQ sauce, all stacked into a garlic-buttered brioche roll, served with chips on the side.


It’s messy, it’s melty, and it might just be the most indulgent thing we’ve served in a while.

But this is a trial, and we’re after your feedback - if you love it, let us know, because it just might become a staple of things to come!

We’re finally in the planning phase for something big upstairs - a dedicated events space on our mezzanine level.


This will be Future Magic’s home for birthdays, weddings, christenings, team parties, long lunches, tasting nights, and whatever else our community dreams up!


But before we lock in the design, we want to hear from you.


If you’ve ever booked an event space (or tried to), you’ll know the pain points: Bad lighting. Weird layouts. No AV. Nowhere to stash the cake.
