Fresh Wort Kits - You're one brew day away.
You scanned the code, so you've got a Fresh Wort Kit in hand and beer on the brain. Everything you need to turn it into your own is below.
What is a Fresh Wort Kit?
Brewing your own beer sounds harder than it is. A Fresh Wort Kit skips the bit that scares people off (mashing grain, boiling for an hour, weighing hops) and hands you the wort already made: the same stuff that goes into our fermenters here at Future Magic. You add yeast, control the temperature, and wait. That's the whole trick behind home brewing your own craft beer.
Brewing Instructions
From box to fermenter, the basics:
-
Sanitise your fermenter, lid, airlock and anything else that touches the wort.
-
Pour the wort straight into your sanitised fermenter.
-
Top up with cooled, boiled water if your kit calls for it. Hint, most of ours don't, you can ferment it as it is, how easy!
-
Check the wort's settled to room temperature before you pitch. Too warm and you'll stress the yeast, too cold and the fermentation may stall; check the pack for the exact number.
-
Pitch the yeast, seal the fermenter, fit the airlock.
-
Ferment somewhere stable and dark at a minimum, ideally temperature-controlled. Time and temperature depend on the kit; check the yeast packet or label for specifics.
-
Once gravity holds steady for a couple of days running, you're ready to keg or bottle.

Before you brew, clean!
The single biggest factor in whether your beer turns out great or infected isn't the recipe. It's how well you clean and sanitise. Cleaning strips out the visible grime; sanitising kills what you can't see. Skip either step and it doesn't matter how good the wort was.
