Our Impact
We are on a constant mission to have a positive impact on our community, people and planet. We believe that being open and transparent in this mission will encourage others to be more aware of their own impact too and help us to leave the world better than we found it at the end of each day.
Below are a few of our initiatives and commitments to our community, people and the planet. If you have any feedback or suggestions on how we can do better in our efforts, please use the feedback box at the bottom of the page. We'd love to hear from you.

Purpose
Statement
What drives us.
Future Magic Brewing Co. exists to bring people together and make our little corner of the world better. We brew with high standards and an open door, support our local community and the people who work with us, and care for the environment we operate in. We measure success not only by what we pour, but by the positive impact we have on our people, our community and our planet.

How we talk about what we do
Good beer doesn't need spin, and neither does a good business. So here's the deal on how we communicate.
If we make a claim about our beer, our food or our impact, it's true and we can back it up. The wins and the work still in progress both get an honest mention. We don't dress up the good numbers or quietly drop the bits that aren't finished yet.
Beer is for grown-ups who choose to enjoy it, so we market it that way. Never aimed at anyone underage, never pushing you to drink more than you came for, and always with a nudge towards savouring the good stuff and looking out for each other.
If we ever get this wrong, tell us. There's a feedback box at the bottom of this page and we read every message.
Our People
Having a good workplace isn't a bonus, it's a right.
A brewpub is only as good as the people pouring, cooking, brewing and pulling it all together. Looking after them isn't a perk. It's the job.
That means real employment terms in writing for everyone, pay that's set fairly and out in the open, and the training and backing to get better at the craft they love. We check in on how the team is actually doing, not just on how the beer is selling.

Our Planet
Brewing uses water, energy and ingredients, and it makes waste. Pretending otherwise would be easy. Measuring it and chipping away at it is the harder, better path, so that's the one we're on.
Right now that looks like:
-
Solar on the roof putting clean power back into the brew day.
-
The brewery is designed to recycle or reuse energy from one process to feed another and keep waste out of waterways.
-
Our processes focus on ways to reduce use of excess CO2, water or harmful chemicals.
-
Spent grain and trade waste kept out of landfill instead of binned.
-
Water and energy use tracked every month, so we know where we stand and where to push next.
We're honest about where we are. Our water and carbon numbers sit in the amber zone today, not the green, and closing that gap is exactly the kind of goal we like setting ourselves.

Our Community
East Brisbane helped make this place what it is, so backing the people and causes around us isn't a side project. It's most of the point.
That shows up as support for local causes, sponsorship of nearby schools, clubs and events, and donations of beer, space and time to the groups doing good work in our patch. Given the choice, we'd rather spend with local suppliers and makers and keep the good stuff close to home.
