Tapped In #001: Big Launches, Bigger Bites, and a Beer Mile Abroad

Hey all,
It's been a minute since I've hopped on a blog post or email. I do love writing them as it helps keep me connected with our community and I've let that slip with the old excuse of being "too busy running the place!" Well I'm back, with some headspace and free time to get back into the swing of things!
Last Week Update
There’s nothing quite like seeing the taproom buzzing midweek with a crowd of curious, passionate people — and last Wednesday’s event was no exception. We had the pleasure of hosting our neighbours Elevate Communications and CPRA (Communication and Public Relations Australia) for a panel discussion all about the power of social media, influencers, and yes, even that app — TikTok. It’s always a joy getting to know new faces from the broader community, and these kinds of corporate events bring in an energy all of their own.
We also had a busy weekend of a Lions game on Saturday bringing consistent crowds all day and a function for our local Labour member Renee Coffey and staff/volunteers of around 100. It's so special for us as a community-focused business to be able to host any of our local businesses and politicians for functions as it helps us all stay on the pulse of whats happening in our neighbourhood!
New Beer. Who’s BILLY?
This week saw the long-awaited launch of BILLY, our West Coast IPA brewed from a recipe mysteriously left behind by a stranger who signed only as “Billy.” And if the feedback so far is anything to go by — the man’s a genius. It’s punchy, clean, and absolutely flying off the taps. Grab it now in the taproom, for takeaway, or online before it vanishes.
While you're here, Francesco has been up to a bit of late-night mischief in the kitchen, reinventing our Nutella Pizza into Nutella Bites — these dangerously snackable treats have become a not-so-secret staff favourite. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.


Postcards from the Beer Mile
Our brewer Matt is off soaking up the UK sunshine (or rain - let’s be honest!) with his wife Kat and their two kids Alexa and Sullivan. He even repped the Future Magic tee along London’s famous Bermondsey Beer Mile — a rite of passage for any beer lover. We’re stoked to see him making time for a bit of R&R with family. Bring us back a beer?
Menu Specials (And Why They Matter)
You might’ve noticed we’ve been trialling more and more limited-time specials in the kitchen lately. It’s not just because we like playing with pizza dough (although, yes). It’s part of a grander plan to refresh the menu, introduce new flavours, and keep things exciting for our regulars. And boy do we have some exciting things planned, family style!
So if you spot something new on the specials board — grab it while you can. Some dishes may only last a night or two, and your feedback helps us decide what stays.
Coming Up: Trivia & Tipples
Disney Trivia hits the taproom on Thursday June 26th, and this one’s already filling up fast. These themed trivia nights are running monthly right through to December with themes like Brooklyn 99, The Office, Harry Potter and more. So round up your crew, grab a table early, and prepare to out-nerd your neighbours.
Then on Saturday July 12th, we’re teaming up with Evan from White Oat Distillery on the Gold Coast, who supply us with our gins for a Gin Masterclass — expect a couple of drinks, some bites, cheeky cocktails and a heap of insider knowledge. Tickets drop soon.
